Kidney health impacts minority communities the most while they are typically the least informed. The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois aims to change that. They partnered with GoldStar Communications to reach underprivileged communities in Illinois in need of healthy lifestyle education and engagement.
Through the Kidney Health For Life campaign, GoldStar hosted a series of Community Health Talks with a focus to educate, inspire, and increase outreach to minorities. GoldStar identified churches, community groups, and organizations to target for hosting in-person or virtual talks on kidney disease, diabetes, sickle cell disease, and obesity. We also launched a media campaign using public, social, and digital media to educate underserved communities about the seriousness of kidney disease. Through this campaign we were able to capture hits throughout Illinois.
- We have conducted over 20 community health talks to date
- Over 500 people have participated in the health talks
- Garnered over 300 million media impressions
